It was sarcasm for not wanting to get or feel all mushy and emotional right then!



But the term, "A Kodak moment" means to save a moment of life on film for posterity, (or memory/keepsakes). Like a baby picture that is soooo cute!

It means a sentimental moment. Kodak is a camera/film brand, so it's like a moment that's worth remembering, like a picture.

It is like one of those sayings, "Head over hill" or "Keeping up with the Jone's"



What it is trying to say is that a what you see in a picture is what you get. So if it is a picture of a party, everyone is happy. Thora Birch said this to her mom, when her mom went to apologize for what happened at dinner. She was being sympathetic, and Thora plain out said, I don't want pity from you.
