Question:
The phrase "I always say the wrong thing at the wrong time" confuses me and doesn't make sense. Your thoughts?

Okay, so lets say someone says the right things in the wrong time, that means they say whats perfect and acceptable just not in times where they are appreciated or noticed or make that much of an impact. So when we say 'i always say the wrong thing at the wrong time" that means that person says the wrong, upsetting thing, but at a time where it doesn't really effect the person, where its not noticed. Otherwise, the right thing to say would be 'i say the wrong thing at the right time' because that means that i say the wrong/upsetting/not acceptable thing in the time its most noticed and effective.
I know that the phrase means that for example someones crying because their bf dumped them you go and tell them you're fat. This applies to "i always say the wrong thing at the wrong time" but lets say someones crying because theyre fat and you tell them they are fat. See, that saying the wrong thing at the RIGHT time for what you said.
Does anyone get what im trying to unsuccessfully say?
Or do i sound crazy.

I dont think you are crazy! but I think you might be looking too deep into this saying. The "wrong thing" is obviously something not appropriate, and "the wrong time" is when someone does not want to hear it.

For example, you tell your friend she is fat when she is crying, you have said the wrong thing at the wrong time, but tell her she is fat when she is in a better mood, you have given her a home truth, rather than the wrong thing at the right time.

I feel like im talking in riddles now! I totalyy get what you mean, but i think the quote has to just be taken at face value!

Hope this helps!
